Two wheels, three days, 147 miles.

Over three days last weekend saw Paul and a team of 9 others battle through wind, rain and sunshine to complete their Coast to Coast challenge. Starting at Whitehaven on the West coast and finishing 147 miles later on the East coast at Tynemouth. The course is a varied mix of trail and road riding on both flat and hilly terrain designed to push the team to the maximum.

The team chose to support a charity that is very close to their hearts Young Heroes. Young Heroes provide support, advice and specialist accommodation to young people living with cancer. They also provide must deserved respite breaks to young cancer sufferers and their families. Young Heroes made a huge difference to the life of Alex, Paul’s godson, when he was diagnosed with leukaemia when he was just 15. Alex and his Dad also completed the challenge.

Paul’s son Josh came up with the idea and here is what he said about it.

“So it’s all over and although we are physically and mentally battered I don’t think I’m alone in saying it was a superb weekend and an extremely rewarding journey! It’s been a long few days but it’s all been worth it and nothing in comparison with the work the people at Young Heroes do on a daily basis!”

The target has been set at a whopping £5000 which would have a massive impact on the charity. So far we have raised just shy of £3200 with donations still rolling in. You can still donate to help us achieve our goal by donating through Just Giving.
